Nurse educators from around the world descended upon Atlanta June 10 -13 for the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) Conference. The INACSL Conference is the leading forum for nurse educators, managers, and researchers to connect in person with their community of practice for simulation; and UWG’s Tanner Health System School of Nursing served as a host school for the conference. | Read More >>
After earning her BSN in 2000 and then her MSN in 2003 from the University of West Georgia, Dr. Jan Keys proceeded into what has become a stellar career, serving in various nurse leadership roles in both Georgia and Tennessee. Most recently, Dr. Keys was awarded the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Senior Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award from the Tennessee Hospital Association. | Read More >>
In an effort to increase cultural awareness as well as their nursing skills, two students and an assistant professor from the Tanner Health System School of Nursing recently studied abroad in Budapest, Hungary. History was made at the University of West Georgia’s summer graduation ceremony on July 25. The Tanner Health System School of Nursing saw its first graduate earning a Doctor of Education in nursing education walk across the stage. The Ed.D. in nursing education online program admitted its first cohort of students in the fall of 2012. Now, after 60 semester hours and 12 dissertation credit hours, Jaime Carter was the first student to whom UWG awarded an Ed.D. in nursing education. | Read More >>
U.S. News & World Report recently released its 2015 rankings for online graduate nursing programs. It should come as no surprise that the University of West Georgia’s nursing program ranked well. UWG’s Tanner Health System School of Nursing’s online graduate program was ranked at number 41, out of over 1200 programs surveyed by U.S. News. | Read More >>
